A word from Len Price
Thank You Chatham!!
25th August 2008
Hello All
A thousand thanks to all you hardy souls that turned out for the Medway Happenings show on 24th August. We had a thoroughly splendid time and hope that you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did! I don't want to get melodramatic and I'm not gay or anything but we really appreciate all you good people turning out to support us on home turf. We played plenty of gigs to virtually noone back when we were more shit than than we are now to really appreciate a decent attendance. Come to think of it, we still do play the odd gig in front of virtually noone - usually in London! Anyway, the point is, you are all lovely and deserve a big sloppy kiss on the bottom.
All in all, a thoroughly decent day was had. I woke up in the morning and the weather looked like it might piss all over the gig, but the sun came out and all was well. It was really well organised too. Hope we can do the same next year. Always a pleasure to be playing side by side with the Long Weekend of course. They were jolly spiffing as ever. If you're in the Towns on 26th September - come on down to their album launch at the Rochester Queen in Cuxton. It's an LW / LP3 double header. Guaranteed belter!
In the earlier part of the month, we're at the Dirty Water Club with the Masonics before boarding the LP3 longship for the shores of Norway for a bit of Viking style rape and pillage...only without the pillage...or the rape.
Until next time my friends!
Ahoy!
13th August 2008
Well, summer is almost over. I'm back from me hols, another relative is dead but apart from that, all is well! As we crash onwards towards the autumnal months a few bookings of note - we'll be playing at the Command House all dayer on 24th August in Chatham (of course) and we now have an engagement at the Dirty Water Club on 29th August, playing with the Masonics. That will be an honour and a privilidge, as for the uninnitiated, the Masonics feature Mickey Hampshire and Bruce Brand, erstwhile of the Milkshakes, among other first rate beat combos. In fact, Bruce cut his teeth as a YTS trainee with the Len Price 3 many years ago, when I used to be called Eric. It's good to see the young man finally make a name for himself. We always knew he'd come good in the end. Hahahahaha!
After that - what must be the longest, most rambling and obscure in joke that I've ever committed to our website, let me share this with you. I was in the trocadero centre in that London the other day. I felt the call of nature, so made my way to the nearest public convenience. Imagine my shock and surprise when I came face to face with a stern faced cleaning lady who charged me £1 for the privelige. 'Pon my soul! You gotta love London aintcha?!
In other news, we've been beavering away on new material and will almost certainly inflict some of it upon the audience at our forthcoming shows. We'll be back in the studio in mid october to finish the 3rd album. Hopefully we'll have a new record out by the spring!
TTFN!
Hola!

Hello Chums
Sorry for the lengthy break in communications. Life has been rather complicated over the last couple of months. The perils of mortality and the frail state of the human condition have all taken their toll in one way or another. It is, however, the summer, so let us rejoice in the nearing of summer holidays.
Big thanks to Constan and Cheto for putting us on at the Memorial Trip in Leon. Muchos gracias to all the Hombres that turned out for an evening of splendid fun. As ever on our overseas jaunts we were treated with a level of hospitality that surpassed expectation and was a credit to our hosts. We played with a band called Los Peyotes from Argentina. They played for about 2 hours, performing garage rock classics like 'The Witch' and 'Fire' but with all the lyrics in Spanish. The lead singer looks rather like Lou Ferigno, erstwhile Incredible Hulk impersonator - which is always a good thing. We enjoyed some 'don't mention the Falklands' moments and generally made merry with our south atlantic chums.
As we enter this holiday season, the Len Price are busily working up some new material. We plan to go back into the studio in the autumn for an extended period which ought to see us complete our third album. Hopefully we can aim for a release in the middle part of 2009. Cross yer fingers!
We have got a couple of jaunts on the calendar in the meantime though - keep your eyes on the gigs page.
Adios Amigoes!

Hearty thanks to all of you that turned out at the Dirty water Club and at the IPO over the Bank Holiday to lend their support and make us feel welcome! Special big thanks to those of you that helped turn the Dirty Water into a little piece of Medway at the Gaolers gig. Hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did! Love and snogs to Graham Day for offering us the auspicious support slot at the DWC. Most kind sir! Most kind! Finally, big thanks too to David Bash for the IPO! A jolly spiffing festival!
The vinyl version of Rentacrowd is now available from Wicked Cool, featuring unrelelased tracks that we always wanted on the album anyway. It also comes with a CD version of the album that includes a version of the Prisoners' 'Mourn My Health'
Vaguely amusing things that have happened to The Len Price 3 in the last 2 months include:
1. Playing at 'The Others' through a TOMY 'My first PA' and with a drum kit that (a) didn't have all the appendages usually associated with a drum kit and (b) was shit
2. Having the promoter at 'The Others' storm the stage and turn my amp down.
3. Seeing a scally who looked like Barry Chuckle if he'd been strung out on smack for 25 years hassle the former lead singer of Dodgy, preventing him from leaving the venue for about an hour with an array of tactics including hugging, begging and trying to jump through the window of the vocalist's departing BMW.
4. Arriving at a hotel at 4 in the morning to be told that we missed the 3am check in deadline, therefore having to pay an extra £30 for the room that we had booked and paid for in advance.
Only in England! Gawd save the queen!
Anyway kids summer fun continues apace at the Barfly on 7th June, the Memorial Trip on 28th June and the Command House on 24th August. See the gigs page for more details.
Up yer bums!

On the road again
1st June 2008
Hello Chums
Thanks to all that turned out to see us over the bank holiday weekend at the Dirty Water Club and the IPO festival. We sure had a heady time and hope you did too. Special big thanks to those of you that came up from medway for the Graham Day / LP3 shebang at the DWC. The road trip to and from the Towns to Tufnell Park can be a bit of a cowsun, so we really appreciate the effort. Hope it was worth it for you all!
As ever, it was a real honour to support Graham on his tour. It's always fun to play with a great band and this was no exception. It felt like a little piece of Medway had been transferred to North London. Hearty thanks to Graham and hearty thanks to all that turned out and made us feel loved!
We had a couple of warm up gigs for this at a place called the 'Others' in Stoke Newington and at a charity gig at 93 Feet East in the lead up to the DWC. They were both amusing for different reasons. The Others runs out of a room above a snooker hall and is in some ways quite cool. However, we were forced to play with a drum kit that, (a) didn't have all the components required by a drum kit and (b) was shit. This was coupled with what I think was a TOMY 'My first PA' which was barely louder than a set of headphones. All the more amusing then, when we turned up with our stack guitar amps - designed for extreme volume. I think we managed to upset quite a few of the punters and the promoter even stormed the 'atge' to turn my amp down at one point. Naturally, my response was to this outrage was to double the volume again. It all must've sounded dreadful but by that time, we didn't care. It was fun scaring the promoter and upsetting the punters though.
The charity do was rather like playing in an episode of 'The Office', wth lots of Officey stereotypes running around. As we took to the stage at around 7.30, most of the punters were well sober and just bemused. Why were this bunch of 30 somethings (and therefore old enough to know better) pratting around pretending to be 20 and singing very short songs about wrestlers, perverts and people in the music industry? A question I struggled to answer as I realised that I was missing the Champions League Final.
Love to you all me hearties!
